The Watch That Ends the Night: Voices From the Titanic
You know how it turned out, but how did this tragic night unfold? Poet Allan Wolf tells the story from multiple perspectives including: the captain, the shipbuilder, the millionaire, the immigrant, the lookout, the rat and ... the iceberg.
Allan Wolf is coming to RLMS on Tuesday March 27th for three grade-level presentations. His grade 7 and 8 talks will be about The Watch. His grade 6 talk will be a blended presentation about The Watch and other poetry.
This book is the 2012 One Book, One Town selection. Fairfield and Pequot Libraries have developed a number of programs throughout the month of March including book talks, a writing contest, a concert, and a reader's theater. The culminating event is an author talk for the general public to be held at the Quick Center on the evening of Monday, March 26th. See their One Book, One Town link for information regarding programming and registration.
